Heat-n-Temperature.

Difference between heat and temperature
Heat and temperature

What happens if someone asks you to differentiate between heat and temperature. I know both senses same to most of the people. And in reality many one from you will declare these two words same. This is far away from truth. Heat and temperature are two different words which have two different meanings. Today we at eStudyan will discuss this topic. So, let's begin!

Temperature

The measurement of hotness or coldness of a body is termed as Temperature. There is so many scales on which we measures temperature such as kelvin scale , Celsius scale , Rankin scale , Fahrenheit scale etc. But its SI unit is kelvin scale. Although most commonly we uses Celsius or Fahrenheit scale but international system of units have given priority to kelvin temperature scale.

There is a very simple way of relating two units. One simple thing you have to know is the boiling and melting/freezing point of water at those particular scales. Now understand the way.

Suppose you want to relate Fahrenheit and kelvin scale. You may remember boiling and melting point of water at Fahrenheit scale are 32°F and 212°F. Whereas is kelvin scale they will be 273.15K and 373.15K  respectively. For relating Fahrenheit and kelvin scale just follow this formula:-

Formula for temperature scale
Temperature scale formula

From this formula you can relate any two temperature scales of the world

The above blunder may be shortened as:

TF - 32°F / 212°F-32°F = TK - 273.15K/373.15K-273.15K

Now i have make you understand about temperature ,now let's see about Heat.

Heat

It is a form of energy which gets transferred from one body to another whenever there is a temperature🌡️ difference. Let's  understand this.

Suppose you put a hot tea cup full of tea in a room. What do you observe after some time is that the tea 🍵 gets cold. It happens because heat is lost by hot tea till tea's temperature comes in equilibrium with room temperature. This make us understand that heat always flows from high temperature to lower temperature till the temperature difference lost i.e., They both comes in equilibrium.

I hope you understand about the difference between heat and temperature and to relate two different temperature scales. By this let's end our today's article. Good bye.
See you soon!
